Project: The Crystal Ship 2023

Jaune is kind aan huis op The Crystal Ship. Al sinds de eerste editie in 2016 is de Brusselse street artist erbij met zijn grappige vuilnismantaferelen – in het oog springend stencilwerk waarvoor telkens weer mensen die zijn pad kruisen model staan. Inmiddels vind je ze over heel de stad, en overal toveren ze een glimlach op het gezicht van toevallige passanten. Het volkse karakter heeft daar vast iets mee te maken, al zit er evenzeer erg droge, absurde humor in het werk van de Brusselaar.

Jaune feels right at home at The Crystal Ship. Ever since the first edition in 2016, the Brussels street artist has been around with his funny garbage men – eye-catching stencil work for which people who have crossed Jaune’s path serve as models. By now, you can find them all over the city. And wherever you go, they always put a smile on the faces of accidental passers-by. The working-class nature probably has something to do with it, although there is also some very dry, absurd humour in the Brussels artist’s work.
