THE ARTIST - Juuri is a Japanese large-format muralist who transforms bare walls into powerful Japanese-style art spaces. Her vibrant works are inspired by traditional themes, Japanese motifs, and painting techniques, as well as folklore, kabuki, and historical figures.
THE PROJECT: 'Wuppertal Tanzt' is a homage to the dance choreographer Pina Bausch in the public space of the city of Wuppertal. WUPPERTAL DANCE deals with its 15 international dance co-productions and has them individually interpreted by urban artists from the respective co-production countries in the public space of the city of Wuppertal.
WUPPERTAL TANZT are 10 murals for 10 city districts - 10 dance stories, 10 countries, 10 artists, 10 views and 10 perspectives by international street artists.
