Created for Mimmit Peinttaa Festival
La Chula, in honor to Maria Sorolla’s painting, is a way to speak about roots and identity, even if we’re far away from home.
The 10th edition of the annual Mimmit peinttaa street art event took place in summer 2025 in Hiedanranta, marking a decade of the initiative. Organized by Mimmit ry, a Helsinki-based urban culture association, the event featured both Finnish and international artists. Previously held mainly in Helsinki, with editions in Kotka and Savonlinna, this anniversary edition was supported by Hiedanrannan Kehitys Oy, which is developing the former factory area into a new district. The event brought vibrant murals to the area, contributing to the Hiedanranta art program, which aims to create artworks that enhance the neighborhood’s identity and promote public engagement.
