A new mural has appeared at the Department of Epizootiology and the Clinic of Birds and Exotic Animals (Pl. Grunwaldzki 45). It was created to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences (UPWr) and was officially unveiled on Tuesday (March 31, 2026).

This is the first in a series of murals that will adorn the faculty's clinics.

A minimalist form without overwhelming colors

The mural's color is not overwhelming. It is minimalistic, reminiscent of a sketch, a direct reference to the original concept of synthetic animal silhouettes. It was created under the substantive and conservation supervision of the inspector of the Voivodeship Office for the Protection of Monuments in Wrocław.

The artistic goal of this work was to combine a stark, modernist drawing with recognizable figuration. This approach captures species such as the barn owl, the great spotted woodpecker, and the European pond turtle. The composition is not intended to be overwhelming, but rather to be a light, decorative element of the clinic's identification.
