Deze muurschildering van de Antwerpse kunstenaar Joachim vind je aan de buitenkant van basisschool 't Atheneeke.

De leerlingen mochten meedenken over het kunstwerk. Joachim heeft de ideeën van de leerlingen vervolgens in zijn muurschildering verwerkt. In het werk zie je een figuur die letterlijk kennis opneemt. De vloeistof in de beker waaruit hij drinkt, staat voor die kennis. In zijn open schedel heeft het brein plaatsgemaakt voor gloeilampen die ideeën symboliseren.

This mural by the Antwerp artist Joachim can be found on the outside of ‘t Atheneeke primary school.

The pupils were invited to contribute their ideas to the artwork. Joachim then incorporated the pupils’ ideas into his mural. The artwork depicts a figure who is literally absorbing knowledge. The liquid in the cup from which he is drinking represents that knowledge. Inside his open skull, the brain has been replaced by light bulbs, symbolising ideas.
