Here is my first fresco to support our 6 young Portuguese people arriving in Strasbourg in 2 days after filing the first climate change complaint. They are taking on no fewer than 32 countries before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, because our growth-addicted leaders have decided not to lower their carbon emissions, but rather to accelerate them — as illustrated by the airline fleet, which is expected to double in 20 years.

This historic climate case could hold governments accountable for acting too slowly in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. If the verdict is positive, climate inaction will be considered criminal, and these 32 countries will be sanctioned, including their multinational corporations. Our world needs justice more than ever, and on September 27, parliament has a unique opportunity to write a page of history. If ethics and morality prevail, hope will take hold, and in my opinion, a multitude of climate associations will finally be able to be heard and make our leaders tremble.
