Wild pansy(Styvmorsviol-Trefaldighetsblomma)

The public mural was commissioned by Stockholm konst, the city's official art department, to enrich the urban landscape of Södermalm. (There used to be a different mural 2 years ago) For this large-scale project, artist Erik Jeor drew heavy inspiration from vintage, didactical botanical school posters that were traditionally used in Swedish classrooms to teach students about nature. By scaling up the delicate anatomy of the wild pansy, the artwork bridges the gap between historical educational illustrations and modern street art.
