Hear the Sound of the Sea Within, Breathing

It’s a shame that the phrase is no longer on the wall to accompany the mural. It speaks about something very simple, yet vital—not only for living, but also for finding a sense of calm.

I wanted to paint here because being in this place brought me peace: listening to the sound of the water and watching the boats at Paradis gently moving with the waves.

The Latina woman is still there, with a seashell as her ear, reinforcing the meaning of the text that used to be written on the wall:

“Hear the sound of the sea within, breathing.”

This mural was made possible thanks to Bjørn Olav, who gave me some of the paint and spray cans he had available and the space. I actually like it when you only have a few colors to work with and have to improvise, find solutions, and make the most of what you have.
