Cinzas da Floresta

The mural made by Mundano to promote the Cinzas da Floresta documentary: "Artivist Mundano travelled throughout Brazil collecting hundreds of pounds of ashes from the aftermath of thousands of wildfires destroying Amazonian forests. He then created “environmental crime pigments” and used these to paint murals focusing on climate change issues. This mural is a reinterpretation of a painting of a farm worker (swipe to see)by the Brazilian artist Candido Portinari. Mundano replaced the farmer with a firefighter, a member of one of the many brave volunteer forest fire brigades which have formed to protect their homes and environment with little support from the government."
