Roots

Mural made for @allcapsrotterdam Festival. In the Rotterdam district of Feyenoord, the festival presented me the Concrete Lions team, a 3x3 basketball club that has its base in the same building. Knowing their feats achived from the team it apeared that as people weren´t recognized as they deserved, As contributors for the sport and as local region. I wanted to bring awarness of the deeper aspects of the individuals. As people who carry their own struggles and hopes on their daily life, knowing the uncertainty of their path, but still find strength from hope and come together to build something collectively that also will impact their individual lives. Therefore I decided to portrayed the athletes in casual clothes instead of in uniform, to emphasize their journey and challenges as people. With their fears, hopes and dreams so hopefully it would resonate with the locals as well other parts of the globle.
