North West Walls

Sinds 2014 zijn de North West Walls een opvallend element in het Festivalpark in Rotselaar. Rock Werchter heeft laten zien dat kunst ook thuishoort op een muziekfestival en dat het werkt.

North West Walls heeft het festival een fantastische artistieke uitstraling gegeven. Als het gaat om kunstprojecten, is dit een zeer ambitieus project. North West Walls is een markant element in het landschap dat nog lang na afloop van het festival te bewonderen is. Het is een permanente installatie, maar toch ook weer niet, want elk jaar ziet het er weer anders uit.

Onder curatorschap van Arne Quinze worden de North West Walls elk jaar opnieuw tot leven gebracht door een nieuwe groep straatkunstenaars. Voor NWW#10 heeft curator Arne Quinze zes topstraatkunstenaars uitgenodigd: Bublegum, B:K Mafia, Elisa Capdevila, Speker, Tris en Wouter Persyn.

Since 2014, the North West Walls have been a striking element in the Festivalpark in Rotselaar. Rock Werchter has shown that art also belongs at a music festival and that it works.

North West Walls has given the festival a fantastic artistic allure. When it comes to art projects, this is a very ambitious project. North West Walls is a marker in the landscape that can be admired long after the festival period has ended. It is a permanent installation. But it's not, because it looks different every year.

Curator by Arne Quinze, the North West Walls are brought to life each year by a new group of street artists.
For NWW#10, curator Arne Quinze has invited six top street artists: Bublegum, B:K Mafia, Elisa Capdevila, Speker, Tris and Wouter Persyn.
