The mural was created for the 75th anniversary of the NBA within the project "Creators Series", a series of original works commissioned from artists from all over Europe.
The work is dedicated to a Roman boy who died at 33 years old, Valerio D'Angelo, a Roman journalist who wrote for "La Giornata Tipo", an Italian newspaper in the world of basketball.
Drawing is the story of how from a dream you can achieve great goals. Besides Valerio D'Angelo (and his brother Damiano) the protagonists of the mural are Manu Ginobili and Marco Belinelli.
Ginobili is an Argentine player who started his career in Italy, won with Virtus Bologna and then exploded in the NBA. Belinelli is an Italian player who grew up in the youth ranks of Virtus Bologna and then joined him in the NBA at San Antonio Spurs. Together they led that team to the NBA title in 2013-14.
Ginobili and Belinelli were chosen because Valerio D'Angelo loved the European players, the San Antonio team and these 2 players in particular.
The title of the work is the same as the book by Valerio D'Angelo.
