Hidden among the winding streets of Rome’s Trastevere district, this striking portrait of the ancient Roman goddess Anna Perenna transforms the shutter of Palazzo Velli Expo into a captivating work of public art. Created in 2016 by Turin-based artist Neve during his solo exhibition at the venue, the mural showcases his remarkable command of hyperrealism.

The elderly goddess is depicted with extraordinary detail, every wrinkle telling a story of age, wisdom and endurance. Soft light illuminates her face while deep shadows enhance her mysterious presence. Her intense, slightly upward-looking eyes remain full of life, drawing viewers into an almost mythical dimension. Emerging from a dark background, the portrait appears to transcend the flat metal surface, creating a powerful illusion of depth.
