Cesta Pražské mozaiky (The Path of the Prague Mosaic)

The “Stars and Crosses” paving pattern is painted onto a temporary concrete path, highlighting a vanishing element of Prague’s urban landscape.

Once commonly found in the streets of Žižkov and Vinohrady, this distinctive paving design has gradually disappeared as traditional craftsmanship was replaced by simpler paving made from cut square stone cubes and uniform surfaces.

The pattern recreated here is based on one of the last paving stones with this motif, located in front of Pařížská 67/11.

Through this temporary intervention, Bryx highlights the fading of traditional craftsmanship and the declining quality of public space.
