Black Mechanical Planet

A monumental sculpture created by Jan Kaláb, featuring a video projection by Jan Hladil, presented at 2026 Signal Festival.

This striking piece connects clean geometric shapes with cosmic imagination, turning a cluster of interconnected spheres into a giant mechanical universe. The dynamic projection flowing across its surface brings the sculpture to life, capturing the movement of planets, dark matter, and outer space energy. Black Mechanical Planet is Kaláb’s vision of a universe whose scale, energy and mystery extend far beyond us.

While the video projections could only be viewed during the Signal Festival from October 15 to 18, 2026, the sculpture itself will remain on display at this location until January 2027.
