A small three-dimensional mosaic is installed on the corner of a building on Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau. Made from numerous square tiles, the work uses a highly reduced pixel-art aesthetic in black, white, red and orange. The central motif appears to depict a stylised women’s shoe or high heel.

A second element of the work is a small three-dimensional pigeon by Avok, perched on the projecting ledge immediately above the mosaic. Its dark, rounded body and simplified form contrast with the highly geometric pixel aesthetic of Hansel Pixel’s tiled piece. The pigeon introduces a separate but closely related urban motif: a familiar inhabitant of Paris’s streets and rooftops. Together, the two elements form a compact collaborative intervention by Hansel Pixel and Avok.

The work is signed “Hansel Pixel × Avok.” Hansel Pixel is a French street artist known for small, three-dimensional pixel mosaics installed in the urban environment. He designs his motifs himself and assembles the mosaics before installing them in public spaces.

According to a 2026 interview, the collaboration with Avok developed from a desire to recreate the atmosphere of graffiti sessions and working together in the street. The artist also describes the pigeon as a characteristic wild animal of the urban environment. Hansel Pixel states that he and Avok installed three mosaics in Paris in roughly an hour and a half.
