Gabriel

Belgian artist Djoels was invited for the Kaminazpi Artist Residency program. This 3 week artistic residence program in Ondarroa, Bizkaia (Spanish State). The residence includes room and board in a unique coastal town in the Basque Country, tours, workshops, a gallery and studio at the artists disposal. Artists will be given two weeks to get to know the village, its people and its history and on the third week initiate a mural that has been inspired by their stay. Murals will be installed on walls 15m x 8m and artists are required to have a lift licence. Every year 2 artists will be selected to participate.This year Djoels was joined by Sabotaje El Montaje.

I heard exciting stories, including from women and children who stayed on the mainland with fear of whether the father would get home safely. Now he makes miniature boats. A real artist!"
