Holding the moon

This large-scale anamorphic mural creates the illusion of a giant hand emerging from beneath the ground and lifting the moon into the air. Designed to be viewed from a single precise vantage point, the artwork transforms the walkway into an interactive three-dimensional scene where visitors can step into the composition and appear as if they are standing on the moon itself.

Created for the Mashhad Urban Arts Festival, the mural measures 4 × 15 meters and is located within a dedicated astronomy and star-science zone inside Roor Park (Mashhad). By combining cosmic imagery with meticulous perspective mapping, the piece brings a sense of wonder, playfulness, and connection to the universe into the public space.
