LAVENDER DEATH

Collective intervention for the San Antonio Festival 2025, in the outside walls of Fescinal.

In this artwork, artist Cali, showcases a scorpion, a prominent symbol rooted in Chicano identity which means resistance and survival.Heavily influenced by indigenous Aztec and Mayan ancestral myths, the scorpion represents the balance between destruction and rebirth. Its venom reflects the duality of existence—capable of delivering both death and healing

The scene showcases a large scorpion with tail curved in shades of lavender,(the colour protagonist in this Festival ) with thick outlines, giving the creature a metallic tinge . The stinger is ready to attack, alerting with a dripping yellow venom which highlights its toxicity while a storm of cosmic aura fills the scene
