Flores en Vallecas

Mural created under the district creative initiative ‘Vallecas with female name’, to pay tribute to Amaia Imaz for the celebration of the Internationals Women’s Day in 2018

The artwork is a carefully layered digital collage that blends historical analog photography with painted elements, in a colourful reddish and bluish palette

This artwork presents women as the center of Society weaving relationships as mothers, wives, daughters, friends and neighbours with overlapping faces of real women from Vallecas. It mixes portraits of local historical figures, neighborhood activists, and everyday residents to create a collective face of the district's social struggles.
