Linat Ha-Cholim - לינת החולים

The Hebrew inscription “Linat ha-Cholim” (לינת החולים) can be seen on the façade of 19 Rewolucji 1905 r. Street in Łódź, marking the former Jewish charitable society that cared for sick people. Founded in 1884, the organisation ran an outpatient clinic and maternity clinic at this address from 1910, later adding a dental office and pharmacy. The inscription has survived to this day and, although the letters visible today have been repainted, the original inscription remains an important trace of Łódź’s pre-war Jewish history.
