Avis metaphora

As the title Avis Metaphora (Latin for "Bird Metaphor") suggests, the artwork uses avian imagery as a vehicle for broader social or personal expression.

While specific interpretations of each bird's role in this particular mural are often left to the viewer, Falkholt’s work generally focuses on freedom and challenging traditional structures. By placing diverse birds together under a shared sun, the mural celebrates a sense of community and the idea that public art can "beautify urban environments and promote dialogue". Its installation coincided with the 2025 inauguration of the renovated Lagmansskolan, serving as a landmark piece for the students and the local community.
