Make Lemonade

Deze muurschildering is tot stand gekomen met inbreng van de buurtbewoners. Via kleurplaten, gesprekken en een inspirerend moment op de gevel hebben we herinneringen en kleine momenten van vreugde verzameld. Al die inspiratie is verwerkt in het ontwerp van Isabelle Geeraerts.

De uitspraak „Alles komt goed“ vat de geest van dit project perfect samen. Deze muurschildering herinnert ons eraan dat we samen sterker zijn, zelfs als het even tegenzit. De citroen op de muur staat daar niet toevallig. Net als het gezegde „Als het leven je citroenen geeft, maak er dan limonade van“, gaat het erom het leven te omarmen zoals het komt, met een glimlach, een goed gesprek of een glas wijn met de buren.

This mural was created with input from local residents. Through colouring pages, conversations and an inspiring session on the façade, we gathered memories and little moments of joy. All that inspiration has been incorporated into Isabelle Geeraerts’ design.

The phrase ‘Everything will be alright’ perfectly captures the spirit of this project. This mural reminds us that we are stronger together, even when things get tough. The lemon on the wall isn’t there by chance. Just like the saying ‘When life gives you lemons, make lemonade’, it’s about embracing life as it comes, with a smile, a good chat or a glass of wine with the neighbours.
