Thursday October 6th, 2021 at noon, during an official ceremony, the Laon hospital centre was renamed after Simone Veil, who was notably Minister of Health.

The City obtained the family's consent to name the establishment after her.

The municipality asked street artist C215 to create a portrait of Simone Veil on the hospital's façade inside the building. Mayor Éric Delhaye came to see it in the company of its creator.
