The utility box in Koblenz’s pedestrian zone depicts a brown paper bag lying in the grass. The silhouette on the bag represents the famous Koblenz Schängel (or Schängelchen), a mischievous boy who is regarded as the city’s emblem and mascot.
This street art project was carried out by artist Steffen Tschuck (Citerart) as part of the “Urban Art” initiative, which aims to brighten up grey utility boxes in Koblenz’s city centre.
