"Contraires en Harmonie" (Opposites in Harmony) is a kinetic outdoor sculpture. A kinetic artwork is a piece of art where movement is a central and defining element of the design. In this case, the movement relies entirely on human interaction. Passersby can manually push, rotate, and shift the four interconnected stainless steel gates. As people interact with them, the physical friction and contrasting geometric shapes dynamically shift into a fluid, harmonious balance.
