Gunnedah Maize Mill Dorothea Mackellar Mural

A tribute to poet Dorothea Mackellar, who while homesick wrote the iconic poem My Country, romanticising and resonating with Australians becoming an unofficial anthem. The imagery of Australia is depicted in this large-scale mural, with the first verse written in script and a portrait of the poet.

The artwork was painted on the heritage-listed Brenton's Mill, now known as the Gunnedah Maize Mill. The metal silo on the left-hand side was painted a year later.
