This mural is in walking distance to two other murals! And was commissioned by the Valiant Pub.

This striking mural by Nikita Spires blends the power of remembrance with the pride of local identity. Painted on the Willows Estate in Grimsby, it honours fallen soldiers through bold colour, symbolism, and emotion.

At the centre of the piece, the Grimsby Town F.C. crest anchors the composition — a nod to the town’s shared heritage and the community spirit that unites people across generations. Above it, the words “Lest We Forget” unfurl like a banner across a vibrant field of poppies, symbolising sacrifice and renewal.

Silhouetted soldiers stand against a blazing sunset sky, their forms both solemn and proud. The intense backdrop of reds, oranges, and blues captures the dual energy of remembrance and hope — a visual echo of courage and resilience.

Spires’ use of expressive colour and strong contrast makes the mural both visually arresting and deeply emotive. It transforms a simple brick wall into a place of reflection, merging art, memory, and local pride in one powerful image.

This mural has become a quiet landmark within the community — celebrated not only by locals but by football fans and visitors alike, symbolising unity through remembrance and creativity.
