Brückenschlag

The motif bridges the gap between the industrial past and the modern culture of the city of Gelsenkirchen It depicts the Nordstern Park Double Arch Bridge (known in German as Doppelbogenbrücke). In the Ruhr area, bridges are everywhere because of the many canals, rivers, and railway tracks. In this culture collage, the bridge acts as a symbol.
