Sai Neoh (Bonsai) is a local artist with more than 25 years experience in large-scale art. His concept for the silo mural features native Australian flowers in vibrant natural tones against a deep background. The intricate arrangement of flowers flow upwards, emerging from the ground with a sense of lightness as they wrap around the cylindrical structure. The contrast between the delicate, airy movement of the flowers and the heavy, solid concrete of the silo emphasises the transformative power of nature and pays tribute to Australia’s natural heritage. This mural transforms the silo from a historical industrial structure into a focal point of the Federal Mills community - a beacon of the energy and creativity that defines the district today. The intriguing design encourages continual discovery, making the artwork a dynamic presence in the everyday lives of those who pass.
