Eugowra Post Office

On January 23rd 1884, the postmaster general ruled 'Lot 4' at the corner of Nanima and Pye Streets as the site for a new Eugowra Post Office to be built. The building was completed and occupied in the same year. The first telephone exchange was opened on September 24, 1910 and was installed in the post office. This facility was a regular source of employment in the area.

The manual telephone exchange operated from this building until it was automated in 1976. In 2013 the Eugowra Post Office was sold and the postal service was then transferred to the Rural Transaction Centre in Broad Street. Since then the site has been used as a chemist, bed and breakfast, pop-up shop and food van.

The mural is designed as a stamp, and features the old Eugowra Post Office, the postie being swooped by a magpie, and a small dog carrying an envelope in its mouth.
