Wände Südost Wisthoffweg

“WÄNDE SÜDOST” transformed the noise barriers along the A40 highway in Essen (North Rhine-Westphalia) into a massive public mural art gallery in 2012. The walls run alongside the highway near Wisthoffweg in southeast Essen. A total of 21 local, national, and international artists designed the concrete walls along the highway — spanning approximately 3,500 meters — on the sides of the noise barriers facing local residents.
