Lulu Lane

Lulu Lane is a vibrant mural created by Itsjdart.

Depicting a black and white portrait of Lulu Anderson, a civil rights activist that sued the Edmonton Metropolitan Theatre for refusing her entry due to racial discrimination.

She lost her case in 1922, and unfortunately records pertaining to her case were destroyed by Edmonton government. Historians are working on remembering her civil rights activism.

Itsjdart imagined what she would look like due to no representation of what she looked like can be found.

Also depicted are birch trees symbolizing resilience and courage.
