Nessy-Familie

The dragon-like sculptures are known as the "Nessy Family" in Düsseldorf-Bilk / Oberbilk, located right next to the TuRU sport grounds along the street Auf’m Hennekamp.

While it looks like a playground sculpture or purely public art, it is actually a functional industrial structure built by the city's drainage department. The curved pipes serve as an air exhaust and ventilation shaft for the massive underground central sewage canal, preventing dangerous gases from building up inside the sewer system.
