In her colorful illustrative style, Marije made 2 beautiful ladies in love who run into the neighborhood together under a rainbow. 

Marije Maria: "When I heard that a resident from this flat is committed to the LGBTQIA+ community, I didnt have to think twice about my subject as I have been wanting to create this mural for a long time. I loved making this mural and hearing the lovely and positive stories from people who passed by. This flat will make way for more houses, so this mural won’t be here for that long. I would love to create more LGBTQIA+ murals in the netherlands and the rest of the world. Where would you like to see one? "

In this neighborhood Street art Streets and Woonbedrijf Ieder1 are organizing a number of Murals together. A lot will change in this neighborhood in the coming years. The current homes are making way for new ones, in order to offer even more people a new home in Deventer. With these Murals we want to show the city that this neighborhood is going to change. That many people “move Home” to help the city move forward. This is the underlying theme of the murals that have emerged in recent months.

The Ludgeruskwartier restructuring project is a collaboration between Woonbedrijf Ieder1 & Gemeente Deventer.
