This mural by Byond, is a modern interpretation of Vanitas. Objects from the artist'life symbolise the passage of time: his first photo book, a watch that no longer ticks, and his favourite tool, the spray can.

The old masters of the museum of the Mauritshuis generally used oil paints, Beyonds's medium of choice is the spray can. He combines borh realism and abstraction in his work. The message remains the same: everything is temporary.
