Painting the transformer station was an idea that came from the neighborhood. There has been a lot of discussion about the design. The neighborhood wanted the image to be fitting with the surroundings. In the end, it became a dune landscape, with a kind of balustrade at the front, which makes it look as if you are looking towards the dunes.

The photos only show the frontside. The backside is painted as well.

Het schilderen van het transformatorstation was een idee dat uit de buurt kwam. Er werd veel gediscussieerd over het ontwerp. De buurt wilde dat het beeld zou passen bij de omgeving. Uiteindelijk werd het een duinlandschap, met een soort balustrade (“uit respect voor het trafohuisje”) aan de voorkant, waardoor het lijkt alsof je naar de duinen kijkt.

De foto's tonen alleen de voorkant. De achterkant is ook geschilderd.
