Artwork for Stedelink Wonen , curated by Micha Debie for Open Art Gallery Delft.

In 2022 the residential buildings in Delft's district "Het Rode Dorp" were improved and made more sustainable. In 2023, Stedelink added extra color to them. Six residential buildings in this part of the city received a mural. The residents themselves chose which art style they wanted on their building: (sur)realistic, illustrative, typographic or abstract. The style that got the most votes was realized on their building.

The streets in this district are named after composers, so music formed the inspiration for the artists.

Born in 1975, Ricardo van Zwol grew up in Rotterdam and has been drawing and painting for a large part of his life. At a young age he got the chance to turn his hobby into his job. In the beginning of his career he painted various panels and walls on commission. Mostly portraits, trompe l'oeuils and vistas. Besides painting on canvas, Ricardo also painted on old wooden planks, panels and directly on a wall. Ricardo's painting style could be recognized by the detail combined with a rough finish. His love for tattoo art can be seen in some of his works.

Nowadays Ricardo is a full time muralist, wellknown for painting in his very recognizable style. The artist uses only brushes and rollers, no spray cans.

On this wall Ricardo van Zwol painted a portrait of Alphonsus Johannes Maria Diepenbrock (1862 – 1921), a Dutch composer, essayist and classicist.
