L’uomo del Mare

Alessandra Carloni con quest’opera vuole omaggiare la dimensione portuale e caratteristica della cittadina. Un viaggiatore fanciullo è seduto su un enorme gabbiano, animale caratteristico dei litorali marini, come se questo fosse più che un uccello, una grande macchina da viaggio, con le tipiche peculiarità di un animale meccanico, dotato di bulloni e sulla testa un grande cappello ad elica. Il gabbiano poggia su un tipico tronco d’acqua, che in chiave surreale è contenuto in una grande barca di pescatori, dove all’interno si trovano tutta una serie di piccole case colorate, un chiaro riferimento alle abitazioni del centro storico caorlotto. In questa immagine metafisica e fiabesca, tipica del suo stile, l’artista vuole raccontare l’anima del mare e il culto della pesca e della vita da pescatori.

With this work, Alessandra Carloni pays homage to the town's characteristic port character. A young traveler sits on an enormous seagull, a typical coastal animal, as if it were more than a bird, a great traveling machine, with the typical characteristics of a mechanical animal, equipped with bolts and a large propeller-shaped hat on its head. The seagull rests on a typical log of water, which, in a surreal way, is contained within a large fishing boat, containing a series of small, colorful houses, a clear reference to the homes in Caorle's historic center. In this metaphysical and fairytale image, typical of her style, the artist seeks to convey the soul of the sea and the cult of fishing and the fisherman's life.
