V-J Day in Times Square" is perhaps one of the most iconic images of the end of World War II: a sailor tenderly kisses a nurse as he gently accompanies her in an embrace during Victory Day celebrations over Japan. Alfred Eisenstaedt's famous photograph, specially reworked by the artist and created with stencils, depicts the kiss between an American sailor and a young woman. The artist chose to work on this subject struck by a curiosity: among the many stories circulating about the real protagonists of this "kiss," it is said that the sailor was the son of Italian migrants.
