À Calais, Rémi Tournier livre "Chœur", une composition de pots en terre cuite. Un choix loin d'être anodin : la terre cuite est le matériau originel qui a construit la ville, avant que les guerres et les reconstructions ne le remplacent par des matériaux plus modernes. En résonance avec les briques environnantes, l'œuvre fait ainsi ressurgir la mémoire matérielle du lieu, sous une forme métamorphosée. Le titre renvoie à l'idée de voix singulières qui, ensemble, composent une musique commune : chaque pot, comme chaque individu, participe à la beauté d'un tout interdépendant, telle "une photo de famille" où tous les éléments sont interdépendants et contribuent à la beauté finale.

In Calais, Rémi Tournier delivers "Chœur", a composition of terracotta pots. A far from incidental choice: terracotta is the original material that built the town, before wars and reconstruction replaced it with more modern materials. Echoing the surrounding brickwork, the piece brings the material memory of the place back to the surface, in transformed form. The title evokes the idea of individual voices which, together, make up a shared piece of music: each pot, like each individual, contributes to the beauty of an interdependent whole, like "a family photo" in which every element depends on the others and contributes to the overall beauty.
