Rotunde

The Rotunde Bochum is a popular alternative venue for subculture events, concerts, club nights, and art exhibitions.

The former train station building in Bochum-Mitte was constructed starting in 1949, following the destruction of the old Bochum Central Station during World War II, in time for the 73rd Catholic Congress. It served as such until the completion of the new Bochum Central Station. Afterward, the building was used by the Deutsche Bundesbahn as a training center from 1957 to around 1994 and was subsequently left to fall into disrepair. In 2001, the building was designated a historic landmark. In 2010, the building was converted into the Rotunde cultural venue.
