De Nederlandse kunstenaar Joren Joshia realiseerde deze muurschildering in samenwerking met de buren van buurthuis De Kardijk, de stad Beringen en All About Things.

Naast het opfleuren van de nogal grijze omgeving was het doel van het nieuwe werk ook om de functie van het gebouw te weerspiegelen: De Kardijk is een warme en gastvrije ontmoetingsplaats die ook onderdak biedt aan de lokale fanfare. ‘Kardijk’ is hoe de bewoners in de streek rond Beringen ‘paard en wagen’ noemen.

Dutch artist Joren Joshia created this mural in collaboration with the neighbours of De Kardijk community centre, the city of Beringen and All About Things.

In addition to brightening up the rather grey surroundings, the aim of the new work was also to reflect the function of the building: De Kardijk is a warm and welcoming meeting place that also houses the local brass band. “Kardijk” is what the residents of the Beringen area call a horse and cart.
