Op de hoek van de Markgravelei en Robert Mossstraat toverde Charlotte De Cock de gevel van een oud vergeten hoekpand om in een groen kleurenspel, alsof ze een spiegel voorhield tegenover het stukje groen aan de overkant. Snel zijn is de boodschap, want dit gebouw gaat in januari 2027 tegen de vlakte.

Van ver trekt het monumentale beeld de aandacht, terwijl de vele fijne details pas zichtbaar worden wanneer je dichterbij komt. De locatie aan de Markgravelei vormt een passend decor voor dit werk. Tussen het dagelijkse verkeer en de stedelijke dynamiek creëert de mural een moment van rust en reflectie. Charlotte De Cock bewijst opnieuw hoe street art een publieke ruimte niet alleen visueel kan verrijken, maar ook een menselijke dimensie kan toevoegen. Haar mural nodigt voorbijgangers uit om bewust te kijken, even te vertragen en zich open te stellen voor de poëzie die ook in een stedelijke omgeving te vinden is.

At the corner of Markgravelei and Robert Mossstraat, Charlotte De Cock transformed the façade of an old, forgotten corner building into a vibrant interplay of green hues, as if holding up a mirror to the patch of greenery across the street. You’ll need to be quick, though, as the building is planned for demolition in January 2027.
