BELLEZA ETERNA

Work created for the Alcantarilla Urban Art Festival, Murcia.

As narrated in this story from Greek mythology, Zeus, upon seeing the beauty of the young Ganymede, fell in love with him and transformed himself into an eagle to abduct him. He took him to Olympus, where he granted him the gift of immortality and made him the celestial cupbearer.

In this representation of the myth, Ganymede offers food to Zeus as a tribute to the god of gods, who remains in his eagle form in the presence of the immortal youth. Although Ganymede is presented as an adult on this occasion, he personifies the passage of time. Time influences everything, including the myths of the great gods, fading their incredible stories, their feats, or achievements into oblivion for future generations.

Ganymede was granted immortality because of his youthful beauty and will continue to be a symbol of beauty for all eternity. In this painting by Kraser, the main motif stands out for its strong symbolism, drawing on classical and mythological culture, as is common in his current work. He blends figuration with large, irregular shapes and masses of vibrant color that subtly integrate with their surroundings. Among these more abstract forms, one can observe elements from his artistic past, such as the Dom's, a recurring motif in graffiti and present throughout his work.
