This abstract interpretation of what is going on in Wijgmaal offered a very interesting experience for young people who wanted to take their first steps in the street art world.
The town hall: the beating heart of the city. A city that takes action, bustles, cherishes, moves. A city with taste, which is a home for everyone.
From this position, the design of the artwork 'Heart for Aarschot' arose.
Small, subtle elements in the image provide extra storytelling: the Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk is incorporated in the tailpiece, so that this piece, provided some imagination, tends to the skyline of the city. Some birds fly away through the trees and the heart forms a hot air balloon. In this way, this work depicts a feeling of freedom, a feeling that a world is opening up in which an infinite number of opportunities are there for the taking.
This work was delivered by art collective Treepack. The design was chosen on the basis of a participatory citizen survey.

Het stadhuis: het kloppend hart van de stad. Een stad die onderneemt, bruist, koestert, beweegt. Een stad met smaak, die een thuis is voor iedereen.
Vanuit deze stelling ontstond het ontwerp van het kunstwerk ‘Hart voor Aarschot’.
Kleine, subtiele elementen in het beeld zorgen voor extra storytelling: de Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk zit verwerkt in het staartstuk waardoor dit stuk, mits enige verbeelding, neigt naar de skyline van de stad. Er vliegen wat vogels weg doorheen de bomen en het hart vormt een luchtballon. Op deze manier verbeeldt dit werk een gevoel van vrijheid , een gevoel dat er een wereld opengaat waarin een oneindigheid aan opportuniteiten voor het rapen liggen.
Dit werk werd opgeleverd door kunstcollectief Treepack. Het ontwerp werd gekozen op basis van een participatieve burgerbevraging.
