Abra

The mosaic shows the Pokémon Abra on a bridge pier on Frankenthaler Straße in Ludwigshafen. It is attributed to the so‑called “Ludwigshafen Banksy.”

The term “Ludwigshafen Banksy” refers to a mysterious local street artist who shapes the cityscape with over 60 colorful pixel-art mosaics from old video games such as Super Mario, Pokémon, and Pac-Man. Since 2025, the mosaics have been appearing unexpectedly on house walls, lampposts, and bridges.

The phenomenon is reminiscent of the world-famous French street artist Invader. The true creator in Ludwigshafen remains anonymous, but is very popular with local residents and is tolerated by the city.
