'Guardians of the Horizon'

Mural created for the latest edition of @galeria_cincuenta700 in Caspe, Zaragoza.

The artwork is conceived as a tribute to the natural world of Caspe, giving prominence to three birds that inhabit its surroundings: the Eurasian eagle-owl, the rock sparrow, and the griffon vulture, accompanied by flowers that evoke the local vegetation and a wing that symbolizes other birds. Each of these birds represents different dimensions of life: nocturnal and ancestral wisdom, the vibrant everyday life of the small, and the majesty of soaring flight. By placing them at the center of the composition, the focus shifts away from the human figure, its actions, or its transformation of the environment, overcoming the egocentrism that has dominated much of artistic representation, to celebrate what surrounds and sustains us, reclaiming the landscape and biodiversity as the identity of Caspe.
