Under the title “Art.itektur,” this initiative brings together architecture and art in a unique way for the first time. Professional artists are creating large-scale graffiti murals on building facades in the city center, thereby creating a vibrant open-air gallery and sending a strong message in support of creative urban beautification, a more pleasant environment for residents and visitors, and the sustainability of Bottrop’s city center.

The facade is dedicated to the Bürgerschützengesellschaft, which celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2026.
