The Waste Department of the municipality of 's-Hertogenbosch called on the help of Kings of Colors in 2021 to start transforming the boring metal containers in the city into beautiful colorful works of art.

These ones were painted by Karski.

Roy Valk, also known as graffiti artist Karski, is the creative brain behind MooieMuur, the collective that he founded more than 20 years ago. Roy started his graffiti career in the early 1980's, what's making him one of the most experienced artists in the Netherlands. When he was a child he started as a graffiti rascal and when getting older he turned his passion into his work. Before MooiMuur existed, he had an advertising agency, but his great love kept calling. He changed course and has completely gone into making murals. When he was young Karski also preferred to play with children's clay. He has been using this preference for years in his design process for the large scale murals that he painted with artist Beyond. Large blobs of clay used to be part of many of their murals.

Recently, Karski switched from lumps of clay to blobs of paint and he is turning these into amazing portraits like this one on the container.

You can find all art containers together on a special website: https://containerkunst.nl/
